(1) First Erie County, PA Homicide of 2001: January 4th, 2001: Amanda ORR, 20, 61 Parade Street, Union City, PA died of multiple trauma to her upper body, a 10-1/2 hour autopsy revealed.  The autopsy, performed by forensic pathologist Dr. Eric Vey, determined that Ms. Orr suffered many wounds to her upper body and may have been choked, although strangulation was not the cause of death.  Her boyfriend, identified as Jeremy DILLON, was arrested by Pennsylvania State Police for her murder. At the time of police arrival, the suspect was found outside of the apartment complex covered in blood and with scratches on his face, suggesting that a struggle had taken place.  Reportedly, the police knew this address well, and had responded to several domestic disturbance calls to that location. DILLON was convicted of second degree murder and was ordered to serve life in prison.

(2) JERIOSKI, a good friend of the victim, pled guilty to third degree murder and was sentenced to 20-40 years in prison. Victim: Steven GUTKOWSKI, 23, was killed after being stabbed about 40 times in the chest, head and back with a sharpened screwdriver. His body was found dumped over the side of the bluff at the bay front on the 200 block of East Front Street in the city of Erie. Arrested: John Joseph JERIOSKI, 216 East 3rd Street, Erie, PA and Sandra M. SLATER, the reported girlfriend of JERIOSKI. According to police reports, JERIOSKI was upset at the victim who allegedly made advances at his girlfriend.  JERIOSKI reportedly provided beer and hard liquor to the victim, then lured the victim out of JERIOSKI'S residence, ultimately killing him near the location where his body was found. This was a particularly brutal murder... an "overkill".

(3) This victim was actually assaulted in Scranton, PA on 18 December 2000 and died in an Erie health care facility as a result of his injuries. The death has been ruled a homicide; as of 1 January 2002, no arrests have been made.

(4) The victim was found in a burning pick-up truck, set on fire by the murderers. The victim and those convicted of his murder are from Ohio.

(5) POTTER was shot in the chest on 31 August. Johnny SHOWERS was arrested and is awaiting trial for his murder.

FATHER ARRESTED FOR MURDER OF CHILD

Roger O. HENRY, JR.                               Murder victim 4 month-old James HARMAN

Roger O. HENRY, JR.                                         Infant James Harman, Murder Victim

Arrested on May 22, 2001, Roger O. HENRY, Jr., 1800 block of Treetop drive and now of the Erie County Prison, is to stand trial on four criminal counts, including homicide, aggravated assault, endangering the welfare of a child, and recklessly endangering another person. The prosecution contends that HENRY intentionally killed his infant son, the first baby to be born on Christmas Day 2000, because he would not stop crying. There is an indication that suggests possible previous injuries to the child as well. Authorities are awaiting the results of forensic tests from the Allegheny County, PA forensic pathologist.  Police allege that HENRY gave them a videotaped statement stating that when he could not stop the child from crying during the early morning hours of May 18th, 2001, he placed a "closed fist" in the center of the baby's chest and pushed until the infant's eyes closed, tongue protruded from his mouth and finally went limp. HENRY than reportedly placed the child back into his rib and went back to bed. The child's mother, Heather HARMAN, found the baby "unresponsive" and called 9-1-1.

Girard Woman Murdered

MARTIN is said to have killed the woman at her residence early this week, bludgeoning her to death using an aluminum baseball bat, then transported her body to a remote West County location near Elk Creek, where her body was ultimately found.

THE STEPHEN E. TREIBER MURDER CASE

DA SEEKS DEATH PENALTY IF  TREIBER IS FOUND GUILTY

Stephen Treiber Stephen Treiber

MPD Detective Sgt. Steve Danowski & suspect

Arson ruled as cause of fatal fire that killed 2 year-old daughter Jessica Treiber.

CHARGES: 20 Criminal Charges Pending, including Criminal Homicide, Arson, Reckless Endangerment (5 counts), & Risking a Catastrophe.

FACTS:

Friday, March 9, 2001; 11:35 PM: Flames engulfed the single family residence owned by Stephen E. TREIBER and occupied by TREIBER, his 2 year-old daughter Jessica, his live-in girlfriend Denise RIDDLE, and two dogs. All escaped the deliberately set fire except 2 year-old Jessica TREIBER, who was sleeping in a crib on the second floor of the home.  Investigators determined that the fire originated in two separate locations, and accelerant was detected in both places. In the basement, a gasoline can was found under a bale of straw that was draped by rags, with other rags leading to the gasoline can. A "delayed ignition source" (a candle, similar to those found in other portions of the house) was found near the point of origin.

In an account provided by Denise RIDDLE, she stated that she went to bed with the suspect about 10:30 that evening and fell asleep within minutes. She next recalls being awakened by TREIBER, who told her to get dressed; he unchained his two dogs from the bed and led his girlfriend and the dogs to the second floor balcony and ultimately to safety. He reportedly told RIDDLE that he was going to retrieve his daughter from his room, however reports indicate RIDDLE never observed TREIBER make any attempt to go to the girls bedroom.

Within minutes, Millcreek Police Officers arrived at the scene and climbed a fire ladder hanging from TREIBER'S bedroom balcony in a valiant effort (characteristic of Millcreek's Finest) to save the young girl trapped inside the already engulfed house. TREIBER, meanwhile, took no action to save his young daughter and by accounts of reliable eyewitnesses at the scene, remained unusually calm. He asked a Millcreek Police Officer if his dogs had been saved, however failed to immediately inquire about his daughter until he asked a firefighter on the scene about her a short time later. He responded that "its probably too late now" according to police reports, and appeared to show little emotion.

PREVIOUS FIRES:

  • February 20, 2001: 1304 German Street, Erie, PA: An insured property owned by/ or financial interest held by TREIBER.

  • February 28, 2000:  1315 East 6th Street, Erie, PA: An insured property owned by TREIBER.

  • December 21, 1999: 3634 Argyle Avenue, Erie, PA 16505: An insured property owned by TREIBER.

  • November 19, 1999: 503 East 13 Street, Erie, PA:: An insured property owned by TREIBER.

  • December 16, 1998: 437 West 8th Street, Erie, PA: An insured property owned by TREIBER.

  • December 16, 1995: 329 Blackstone Drive, Erie, PA: An insured property owned by TREIBER.

COMMENTARY:

Well now, it would certainly appear that TREIBER has had more than his share of fires of questionable origin and insurance claims, according to inside sources and substantiated by research by investigator Doug Hagmann.  Is it a matter of bad luck or coincidence?  Did this suspect rescue his two dogs (Rotweilers) by throwing them from a second floor window, thus saving them from certain death but forget his daughter? Why did Kenneth TREIBER, and NOT his son,  have to tell the responding officers and fire officials that Jessica was in the house? Now, I have a few nagging questions that I would ask as an investigator: (1) Was there a life insurance policy taken out on Jessica TREIBER recently? (2) What was the amount of insurance on the burned structure and was it changed (either increased or decreased) recently? (3) What other insurance claims has the suspect filed recently? Any personal injury or workers' compensation claims? I sure these questions will be addressed.

I'm also sure there are experts somewhere that would say, in your defense, that your actions (or should I say inactions) at the time of the March 9th fire that took the life of your daughter that can be scientifically explained as a result of some type of paralyzing psychological trauma that prevented you from taking any actions to save her. While I personally would claw, bite, scratch or otherwise bulldoze my way into my daughter's bedroom to save her life FIRST, I'm sure that some big gun hired by your defense attorney will explain that some people just react differently to a crisis.

You are entitled to a trial of your peers, TREIBER, and I'm sure you will get one. Meanwhile, an innocent,  two year-old girl is dead (but fear not, your dogs are safe, much to the relief of PETA I'm sure). Whether or not you are found guilty of this heinous crime remains to be seen. In any event, I would recommend that you stay away from matches, lighters, and any types of accelerants from now on.  And, in my opinion, I would also suggest getting a vasectomy, for you are unfit to be a parent. In the event you cannot afford one, I'll volunteer.

COMMENTARY II:

Once again, the efforts of the Erie County District Attorney, Brad Foulk,  must be recognized. Together with the Pennsylvania State Fire Marshall, the Coroner's office, Millcreek Township Police officials, and numerous other investigators charges have been filed and an arrest have been made.  Thanks also must go to the responding officers  and the volunteer fireman at the scene, who placed their lives in jeopardy in an effort to save the life of an innocent young girl.

CHILD RAPE SUSPECT ARRESTED

  LYONS

Eric Jetson LYONS

COMMENTARY

I am happy to report to you that child kidnap and rape suspect, Eric Jetson LYONS was arrested for the kidnapping, rape and torture of an 8 year-old Erie girl. Above left is a composite sketch released this week, bearing a stunning resemblance to actual footage of the rape suspect. LYONS, formerly of 261 East 27th Street, Erie, PA, now resides in the Erie County prison on a one million dollar bond.  He was the subject of one of the largest manhunts in the history of the city of Erie.

The citizens of Erie County, Pennsylvania should be very grateful for the hard work, long hours and constant dedication of each and every law enforcement officer who has worked this difficult and emotional case. Again special thanks to FBI SAC Bob RUDGE, Erie County District Attorney Brad FOULK, Erie Police Department Chief of Detectives Dennis TOBIN, and every other law enforcement official who has worked this case.

In an uncommon departure from any semblance of professionalism associated with this web site, I am about to offer my own personal and professional opinions that are not pretty. These are my own opinions, but make no mistake, they are correct. Mr. LYONS has been charged but NOT tried or convicted YET, therefore I cannot legally say that he is guilty of the hideous crimes with which he has been charged. Nonetheless, Mr. Eric LYONS is a true scumbag. He is the lowest form of human fecal material and is needlessly contaminating the gene pool of humanity. As he did the "perp walk" that was televised on Erie area television networks, he made a reference to his innocence as well as his race. Ah yes, the race card. LYONS, you could be white, blue, or pink for whatever that matters and you would still be a scumbag of the lowest form. While you maintain your innocence of kidnapping, raping, beating and leaving an 8 year-old girl for dead, authorities found child pornography material in your vehicle along with a child’s underwear and two steak knives. Yes, LYONS, these are the very same items that most innocent people carry in their vehicles as well.

LYONS, shall we make reference to you previous criminal convictions involving crimes of a sexual nature and your status in Pennsylvania under Megan’s Law? No, we probably shouldn’t as that may violate your right to a fair trial. Lord knows, nobody would want your rights violated in the way that you (allegedly) tortured an 8 year-old girl. That just wouldn’t be fair to you now would it, LYONS?

You will be tried within the best judicial system in the world, where, by all appearances, you will have more rights than the victims of your alleged crimes. Yes, I said victims. The poor eight year-old girl is the primary victim, but there are many untold others. First, every photograph in a child porn magazine represents a victim. Second, every human being with children in the community you (allegedly) terrorized is a victim. Essentially, we are all victims to your criminal actions and depravity.

The only consolation I have is that it brings a smile to my face to know what they do to child raping people in prison LYONS. Right now, if convicted on all of your alleged crimes, you could stand to face 177 years in prison. Not enough. Not nearly enough.

All comments, disagreements, or complaints about possible civil rights violations of the accused can be sent to me by E-Mail. If I care enough, I might answer them.

On Thursday, 15 February 2001, an 8 year-old girl was kidnapped from the safety of home in the 1800 block of Myrtle Street in the city of Erie, sexually assaulted, savagely beaten, strangled, driven to an abandoned area and left for dead.  The girl is currently recovering from her injuries in a Pittsburgh, PA hospital.  The above sketch was drawn by an artist from the FBI Special Projects Unit in Washington, D.C. Special Agent Robert C. Rudge, Jr., who heads the Erie, PA FBI office, stated: "We are very confident that the person we're looking for actually looks like the artist's rendering." The suspect is described as a black male between 30-40 years old, slender build, with a goatee and mustache.  He might be operating a blue four door vehicle with a tan interior.  Although authorities believe this man might be from the Erie, PA area, it is possible that he has abruptly left the area. After the above sketch was released, it was learned that this man was observed prowling the area of West 18th and Myrtle Streets about a week prior to the child's abduction. There is a $1500 reward for information that leads to the identification, arrest and conviction of this suspect.

Jeffrey SKAPURA 09/26/2001: Jeffrey Lynn SKAPURA... Welcome to the Wall of SHAME!

SKAPURA, age 36 of Erie, PA was arrested on theft charges for reportedly collecting approximately $500.00 for the American Red Cross for the victims of the WTC 09/11/2001 tragedy but failing to give them the donations he collected. Instead, according to police, SKAPURA USED the money for a hotel room, a round of drinks for his friends at the hotel bar, and on a computer rental. If there is a good side to this rather pathetic and dismal display of one of the lowest forms of scamming and thievery, it is quite simply that people got involved when they became suspicious.
