(1) First Erie County, PA Homicide of 2001: January 4th, 2001: Amanda ORR, 20, 61 Parade Street, Union City, PA died of multiple trauma to her upper body, a 10-1/2 hour autopsy revealed.  The autopsy, performed by forensic pathologist Dr. Eric Vey, determined that Ms. Orr suffered many wounds to her upper body and may have been choked, although strangulation was not the cause of death.  Her boyfriend, identified as Jeremy DILLON, was arrested by Pennsylvania State Police for her murder. At the time of police arrival, the suspect was found outside of the apartment complex covered in blood and with scratches on his face, suggesting that a struggle had taken place.  Reportedly, the police knew this address well, and had responded to several domestic disturbance calls to that location. DILLON was convicted of second degree murder and was ordered to serve life in prison.

(2) JERIOSKI, a good friend of the victim, pled guilty to third degree murder and was sentenced to 20-40 years in prison. Victim: Steven GUTKOWSKI, 23, was killed after being stabbed about 40 times in the chest, head and back with a sharpened screwdriver. His body was found dumped over the side of the bluff at the bay front on the 200 block of East Front Street in the city of Erie. Arrested: John Joseph JERIOSKI, 216 East 3rd Street, Erie, PA and Sandra M. SLATER, the reported girlfriend of JERIOSKI. According to police reports, JERIOSKI was upset at the victim who allegedly made advances at his girlfriend.  JERIOSKI reportedly provided beer and hard liquor to the victim, then lured the victim out of JERIOSKI'S residence, ultimately killing him near the location where his body was found. This was a particularly brutal murder... an "overkill".

(3) This victim was actually assaulted in Scranton, PA on 18 December 2000 and died in an Erie health care facility as a result of his injuries. The death has been ruled a homicide; as of 1 January 2002, no arrests have been made.

(4) The victim was found in a burning pick-up truck, set on fire by the murderers. The victim and those convicted of his murder are from Ohio.

(5) POTTER was shot in the chest on 31 August. Johnny SHOWERS was arrested and is awaiting trial for his murder.
