Cable Piracy To be topic of national radio program

Erie Private Detective As Guest

May 6, 1999 --

Douglas J. Hagmann, CMI, Director of Hagmann Investigative Services, Inc. is scheduled to be a guest on the Catholic Family Radio Network at 6:00 PM EDT on Thursday, May 6, 1999. He will be interviewed between 6:00 and 6:30 PM EDT by radio host and on-air personality Mr. Patrick Campbell.

Catholic Family Radio Network is broadcast in major markets including Los Angeles, Denver, Chicago, Kansas City, Milwaukee, Philadelphia, Minneapolis, and St. Paul. It is also broadcast live across the world on the Internet through their web site at www.catholicfamilyradio.com.

Cable piracy and telecommunications theft has been a hot topic in the Erie, Pennsylvania area since William Wright, Vice President & General Manager of Cablevision began an aggressive anti-theft initiative in August 1996.

At that time, Hagmann was hired to investigate theft of cable services in the Erie, PA market and later expanded his services in New York State. The wide spread investigation has resulted in numerous criminal arrests, involving agencies such as the FBI, Pennsylvania State Police and other law enforcement agencies.

It is conservatively estimated that cable theft is a five billion dollar a year business nationwide. It is becoming recognized as a significant white-collar crime that violates federal and state laws across the country.
